The place where discussion, confusion, information, and transformation occurs daily. Some lessons you can't grade.

I started a new year teaching 7th and 8th grade. Since most of them are bigger than me, it really makes sense that they don't listen the first time I tell them something.

Wassup Mecia! I got your email. Gald to hear you've been doing well. Don't be a stranger.
Them not listening has nothing to do with them being bigger than you. It's not an acquired skill, nor perhaps a normal function of ones ear, but rather a fine art, especially if the sound is coming from an authority figure. :)
Looks like you all have TONS of snow. Weather issues are probably managed better up there than here, but how do you deal with it all? Can't say snow was a common occurance during my childhood in NC.
Hmm, we only got like 5-6 inches, but it doesn't go away b/c it's so cold there's a layer of ice on the bottom. everybody forgets how to drive from last year so it was a nightmare. i shoveled tire tracks so other people could get out of my way.
friday, i got stuck in traffic and when i got through i was surprised to see that i still couldn't go anywhere b/c on the other side of the hill there were five lanes coming up and none going down...i was pissed. embarrassing that a southerner advised others on how to drive.
suffice it to say, i wear lots fo layers and am about to get that ski mask hat. and i'm just mad a lot.
